Did You Know?

Did you know that Washington D.C. is not in a state? It is it's own district. This was to help make sure no state argues that they have the nations Capital. Philadelphia was going to be the United States capital, Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, and that is where the Declaration of Independence was signed.The Capital was moved to Washington D.C. because it was in the south for compromise of slavery. Also it was to stop riots from happening because the instead of becoming a city in a state it was not in a State it was a District, The District of Columbia.

Did you know Uncle Sam was a real person? His Name was Samuel Wilson. He used to be a meat-inspector in Troy, New York! The reason why he became Uncle Sam is because he won the right to give Americans beef during the war of 1812.

Did You know?

Did you know that the American, French, and British flags are all Red,White, and Blue? The reason why I am stating this is because during the American Revolution, the British were fighting us. The French were helping us. I think those colors influenced the colors on our American Flag! Take a look for yourself and you will probably agree.
